Import from AWS Glue (External)

Link an existing Glue table into Nile without copying data.

    Common Glue Sources

AWS Glue tables commonly point to data in S3 and can be cataloged from sources like RDS/Aurora, Redshift, DynamoDB, and JDBC‑compatible databases.

Step 1: Identify the Glue Table

Enter the source Account ID, Database, and Table. Click Detect to fetch schema from Glue metadata.

Detect schema first, then preview sample data if needed.

Step 2: Preview Sample Data (Optional)

Click Preview to load sample rows. This step requires S3 access to the underlying data location.

    Step 3: Apply Policies

If the Glue catalog or storage is in another AWS account, apply the provided Glue resource policy and S3 bucket policy so Nile can read metadata and data.

Step 4: Name and Schedule the Link

Provide a table name and description, then set a crawler schedule to monitor schema changes. Click Create External Table to finish.
